Following last nights announcement regarding the latest developments regarding Covid-19 there has been considerable confusion caused by some media channels. It has been reported that “inspections are no longer permitted to be provided” but in reality the announcement only referred to Home Open Inspections. As a result many of those Routine Inspections scheduled have been met with considerable opposition from tenants today and they are not allowing access to our Property Managers to undertake these inspections.
Our Agency has decided that for now with the changes that have escalated quickly our Agency will not be conducting any routine inspections where our PM Team is physically required to go to the property. This will be effective from COB of Friday 27th March. Where tenants are refusing to allow us access we will advise the owner as to which option below they would prefer.
For the time being until it is safe for all our agency will be changing the way we conduct Routine Inspections. We now offer Owners the following 2 options:
- Conduct a Virtual Inspection of the property at our normal charge out rate or
- NOT undertake a Virtual Inspection and give us written permission for us to advance the date of the next inspection forward to the next cycle (ie 3 months or 6 months depending on the instructions on the Management Authority.
If you would like to advise the property manager of your choice please send an email to your Property Manager. Our Team are very busy and responding to challenging situations.
Also regarding maintenance due to tenant concerns with access to contractors any non-essential maintenance will be postponed for now.
