From keen golfers to charitable hackers, players of all abilities turned out at Broome Golf Club last Friday for First National Real Estate Broome’s charity golf day.
The annual event raised money for the Kyle Andrews Foundation camp, which brings 18 children to the Kimberley town for a week of fun activities.
The sold-out event saw 18 teams of four clash in a relaxed competition with nine holes, before enjoying a barbecue, drink, auction and raffle in the rooms.
More than $5000 was raised by the real estate company through donations, sponsorships and entry.
First National marketing and events co-ordinator Rachael Abernethy said the day was a great success and it would not have been possible without the help of donors and volunteers.
“It’s wonderful to see so many committed golf enthusiasts who return each year to make this event a success,” she said. “We thank you all.”
Ms Abernethy said First National wanted to get involved to help the Broome community, in addition to the annual fundraisers the company takes part in for the Cancer Council and other nationwide charities.
The winning golf team was Boom Time, who ousted runners- up Cable Beach Roofing.
Tim Forde had the longest drive of the day, with the shortest drive going to Ben Cook.
